Talent Acquisition and Development Lead – Whangarei
Build capability. Shape futures. Drive our growth.
At United Civil Construction, we deliver complex civil infrastructure projects across the upper North Island and beyond — and we do it with care, precision, and performance. We’re known for our strong relationships, safe delivery, and smart solutions in the water, transport, structures, and renewable energy sectors.
We’re now entering a new phase of growth, and in a sector where skills are tight, our ability to attract, retain and develop people is mission-critical. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition & Development Lead to own and deliver recruitment, employer brand, and internal capability — all in-house, and all with impact.
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for professional, technical, and senior operational roles across the business
- Shape and deliver our Employer Value Proposition (EVP) and tell our story through the right channels
- Build a strong, authentic employer brand presence to attract high-calibre people in a competitive market
- Partner with leaders to anticipate needs, plan ahead, and build a strong internal pipeline
- Develop and lead campaigns to get the right people to deliver excellence in our projects
- Support career pathways, development initiatives, and internal mobility
- Deliver a strong candidate experience and streamline hiring outcomes
- Develop simple, practical tools and initiatives that help the business grow its people
What you’ll bring:
- Strong experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, ideally in-house
- Skills in employer branding, content/storytelling, or internal communications
- Exposure to organisational development or learning initiatives
- Excellent relationship and influencing skills — able to partner across levels
- A hands-on, can-do approach — you’re just as comfortable doing the work as you are designing it
- Civil construction or infrastructure sector experience is a bonus
