Certifying Drainlayer – Whangarei
We’re currently looking for a Certifying Drainlayer to join our team in Whangārei. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead by example, mentor others, and contribute to projects that shape the infrastructure of our region.

We are currently seeking a Certifying Drainlayer (recognised by the Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying Board) to join our Whangārei-based team. Ideally, you will hold current certification, but we are open to applicants who can easily renew a previously held certifying qualification.
As a valued team member, you will:
- Safely carry out work within your control
- Mentor and support less experienced staff
- Lead by example in safety and teamwork
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in civil construction
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines
- Leadership skills to guide and mentor teams
- A proactive approach to health and safety, including the confidence to speak up when needed
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to travel and stay away from home for projects as required
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
